Gabriella Zeno is an independent artist and movement researcher. Her artistic activity goes beyond the traditional definitions of genre and covers different media: performance, writing, lecture, and laboratories for research.
After graduation from Federico II University of Naples, where she had majored in Italian Literature, she graduated in Corporeal Mime from I.C.R.A Project -International Research Center (Italy) – directed by Michele Monetta. Later, she focused her research on Physical Theater training with Ana Woolf, Julia Varley, Natalie Mentha, Christina Castrillo and the whole Odin Teatret company, in addition, she expanded her knowledge of movement by studying Butoh Dance with the Japanese masters Akira Kasai and Masaki Iwana and Dance Theatre with Julie-Anne Stanzak.
Among the events she took part in: the ImPulsTanz Symposium for Dance and Other Contemporary Practices, the 13Festivalen – festival of performance art, Sweden, 7th IDOCDE Symposium – ImPulsTanz Festival, the International Festival of Making Theater, Greece, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Odin Week Festival, Denmark.
She was an artist in residence at Ponderosa Dance, Germany, at the Centre for Creative Activities, Poland, and at the ACUR, Catalunya, Spain.
